Create your own unique sparkling gem using the same techniques that artist and pattern designer, MJ Kinman has used to create her giant gem quilts for over 20 years.  Terry Birdsell, an offical Gem Affiliate will be leading this monthly course to create your gem quilts.
You may have read about these amazing quilts in Quilting Arts Magazine and McCall's Quilting Magazine, or you may have seen these quilts featured on Quilting Arts TV and The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims.  Now you can create your very own Gem Quilt at Studio BERNINA, and bring a little *Bling* into your sewing life.
April will work on the Diamond, and each student must complete a square pattern prior to taking the Diamond on. This way each student learns the technique and has some experience, once you get to the most complex piece.
Through the use of color and contrast, along with a new technique for paper piecing, you can add this technique to your sewing repertoire.  They are a blast to put together... and each month we will work on the featured gem that is the birthstone of the month.
