*101: Basic Sewing: Part I (AM or PM session)

The Basic Sewing program emphasizes classic garment construction. Learn to sew from the beginning or fine tune your skills as you create your Basic Sewing Workbook. Studies and sewing samples will include: seams and seam finishes, darts, gathering and easing and zippers. Practice workbook techniques and learn sleeve construction, interfacings, and facings in a blouse and a shirt sample. Students should bring a 2” 3-ring binder with 50 sheet protectors, paper and a pencil to the first class. Some basic sewing tools are also required and will be discussed in the first class.
