Darning & Mending On Your Sewing Machine

In this class, we will be using samples of denim, woven, and knit to learn how to mend and darn our clothing! In the world of fast fashion, there is a surplus of waste. As of 2023, the industry created 97 million tons of textile, packaging, and chemical waste. We can help combat this by learning how to repair our already owned and loved garments! We will discuss methods of free motion darning, using the darning program on your BERNINA, and applique to hide the boo-boos decoratively. We will also be using various types of stabilizer and discuss what is best to use when.
Please note: This is a skills class and we are using the samples to learn how to mend, darn, and applique. We will not be mending any items brought from home by students in class.
