Kid's Winter Sewing for Confident Beginners
Learn to sew as you create a variety of projects from bags to scarves, from skirts to quilts, from pillows to pouches and more! Every project is chosen and designed to increase skills while building sewing confidence for a lifetime of sewing.
Winter Sewing is 10 sessions with all materials included, as well the use of our sewing machines in the classroom. Project examples include:
- Zipper Pouches
- Tote Bags
- Stuffies
- Drawstring Bags
- Hoods & Scarves
- Blanket Hoodie
Your child will learn the following skill sets:
- How to wind a bobbin & thread the machine
- Turning corners
- Zipper & elastic insertion
- Advanced notions entry
- Recognizing fabrics
- Cutting best practices
- Finishing techniques
Please keep in mind that every child works at their own pace. We plan out multiple projects, but it is key to remember that the skill sets and pace is set by the child, not by the calendar. Projects are subject to change based on availability of supplies and the group's pace.
Classes are kept small with 5 children maximum so that we may accommodate one-on-one time with each student as they learn to sew and design at their own pace. Refunds are given only when a class is cancelled by Studio BERNINA, so please plan accordingly. We do not provide make up classes.
